I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
